What is Friv?
Friv is a website that offers a large collection of free online games in various categories such as action, puzzle, and adventure.
How did Friv start?
It all began in 2006 with the domain name friv.com and the making up of the word 'Friv' for the games site there. With increasingly fun games available at friv.com users soon leanred that it was a great place to play.
Why was it started?
Back in the mid 2000s there were a lot of dodgy games site which were little more than scams to push ads. Friv was set up as something better and different.
Is Friv safe for kids?
Yes, Friv curates family-friendly games, but parents should still supervise younger children to ensure appropriate play.
Do I need to worry about Fake Friv sites?
Sadly, yes. With the popularity and fame of Friv, from around 2008 many fake Friv sites started to appear. These were massively promoted in listings from search engines such as Google. Look out for the Registered Trademark ® symbol. If in doubt, please just visit Friv.com
